Heat treatment is a process to adjust the mechanical properties of
aluminum alloy. With our latest unique development named ASAHI TEC
Furnace, we have succeeded in reducing the product heat-up time within
the furnace to less than 10 minutes, which is a considerable reduction
from about an hour using the conventional atmosphere furnace. With
this unique technology of ASAHI TEC, the furnace temperature can
be fully controlled and the temperature variations within the furnace
can be regulated to less than one fifth of the conventional method.
This unique heat treatment improves the metal structure that is about
twice as sophisticated as that of our conventional ASAHI TEC products,
making it stronger to realize thinner wall and lighter weight. This
technology can be used not only for the aluminum wheels but also
for aluminum die cast components in general.
This technology is almost like the origin of die-casting, which uses natural gravity to pour molten aluminum into metal mold or sand mold for die cast. By casting with a sand mold (core), hollow cast components can be made, which is of a more advanced technical level. With our rich store of experience and know-how, we produce wheels of high quality and high-value added.
This is the world's most commonly used process for the production of aluminum wheels. By putting a low pressure on the molten metal surface in a closed furnace, the molten metal is pushed up through the tube between the furnace and the mold center into the casting molds on the upper part of the furnace. It is an efficient casting method as the molten metal in the tube returns to the furnace when the pressure is no longer added, providing consistent quality without wasting the material.
This is a unique casting method of ASAHI TEC that has evolved from the Center Gate LPD. The wheel's design surface can be cooled rapidly by having 2 gates on both sides of the mold, instead of an ordinary single gate on the designed side of a wheel. Aluminum alloy gains strength and inner quality consistency with rapid cooling, thus realizing thin-walled, light weight, and strong aluminum wheels with refined metal structure.
