History of ASAHI TEC CORPORATION

February   1916 Tohachi Ohiai founded Asahi Foundry.
August   1938 Incorporated Asahi Malleable Iron Co., Ltd. from Asahi Foundry
January   1950 Became a subsidiary of NGK Insulators, Ltd. which took a stake in the company
February   1961 Became listed in the Second Section of the Nagoya Stock Exchange
November   1961 Inaugurated the Toyokawa Plant to increase the production of malleable cast iron
December   1980 Became listed in the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange
September   1987 Changed from a subsidiary to an affiliated company of NGK Insulators, Ltd.
March   1989 Established a subsidiary, Asahi Somboon Aluminum Co., Ltd.
November   1989 Changed the corporate name to ASAHI TEC CORPORATION
November   1990 Became listed in the 1st Sections of the Tokyo Stock Exchange and the Nagoya Stock Exchange
May   1993 Established a subsidiary, Asahi Somboon Metals Co., Ltd.
April   1999 Became a subsidiary of NGK Insulators, Ltd. due to a change in the consolidation criteria
August   1999 Business of Asahi Forging Co., Ltd. was transferred to Matec, Inc.
May   2003 The U.S. investment company Ripplewood Holdings L.L.C. took a stake in the company
January   2005 Consolidated subsidiaries changed their names: ASAHI SOMBOON METALS CO., LTD. was changed to ASAHI TEC METALS(Thailand) Co., Ltd.
February   2006 Took a stake in Techno-Metal Co., LTD. to make it a subsidiary of the company
January   2007 Took a stake in Metaldyne Corporation to make it a subsidiary of the company
March   2007 Established a joint venture Wheelhorse Asahi Aluminium Co., Ltd.
May   2009 Metaldyne Corporation was excluded from the consolidated subsidiaries
February   2012 Unison Capital has acquired Asahitec's shares from RHJI and Tokio Marine, and became the major shareholder of Asahi Tec.
July   2012 Became a 100% subsidiary of Unison Capital,Inc. and delisted in the 1st Sections of the Tokyo Stock Exchange
June   2013 Established an affiliate,Hefei Dongling Asahi Tec Metals Industry Co.,Ltd.
April   2015 Corporate split of iron casting business to Asahi Tec Metal Co.,Ltd.
June   2015 Asahi Tec Metal Co.,Ltd. has been deconsolidated by divestiture to Amtek Auto.
